Superpole Qualifying on Friday, 2 May ended with Jeremy 16th on the grid, meaning he had to start from the sixth row for Race One.
On Saturday, 3 May, the first WorldSSP race of the fourth round took place at the compact 3.768km long Cremona Circuit in Lombardy, Italy.
Getting underway at the scheduled start time of 15.15, the 20-lap race was held in warm and sticky conditions, with the track temperature at a relatively high 45°C.
Jeremy did not make a strong start to the race and had to work hard after settling into the race just to pick up some places. He got up to 12th place in the middle of the race on his Ninja ZX-6R 636 but would finally finish 13th after almost running off track at one point.
Alcoba once again scored points in a race, which he has done every single time he has been called on to do so this year.
Sunday, 4 May, will host the second and final 20-lap race of the weekend, with Jeremy launching from 16th position on the grid once again.
Jeremy Alcoba stated: “The first race at Cremona is done and I expected a little but more from myself. I am not happy with myself because I made a bad start and I lost out in the first part of the race. Then, after the first five laps, I felt well and I tried to pass the other guys. I felt really good, like I did in warm-up this morning. I think I did a really good job with used tyres. Then I made a mistake on the back straight in Turn 11, I went wide and I was close to going out of the track. I saved it but the positions I had won in the first part I lost. To come back again was a little bit hard. It was really hot and I struggled a bit in the second part of the race. The team did a good job and the bike was good; today was my fault. Tomorrow I will try to make a good step and be closer to the front.”
